For the past few years I have had the opportunity to be a staff photographer for the San Diego Comic Con. It’s always a great experience and I come home with some fun images.
All the effort that the fans put into their costumes is one of the things I look forward to most of all. Here are a few of my favorites from the 2013 show.
How appropriate…a zombie bride. Luckily none of my clients look like this. Haha.
More zombie action.
A great Wonder Woman costume.
Those of you with kids or just spongebob fans will recognize Mermaid Man. Somebody was walking by as I was taking the picture and they yelled “Hey where’s Barnacle Boy?” He answered, “He couldn’t get a ticket to the Con.”
A plethora of princesses.
Hey kids…stay in school and Supergirl says smoking is bad for your you.
These two are great. I have seen them the last few years in a row. The Comic Con Mariachis.
Stars and stripes
Jay and silent Bob
SteamCrow the Steampunk Scarecrow.
Another costume I remember from last year…leisure suit Boba Fett with his friend Darth Pimp.
Darth Vader with an intentional photobombing by Luigi.
Gladiator on an escalator.
Another cool scarecrow costume.
Coors light warrior. I like the details in this one like the genuine six pack abs and the “chainmail” can tab gauntlets.
I don’t know who these two are but I like it.
I think this one is pretty self explanatory. Yes they were singing and dancing.
Scary chainsaw lady.
There was a booth from a makeup and special effects school and they were applying some elaborate costumes.
The Walking Dead area in the Comic Con.
Here are some actors in the autograph area.
Edward James Olmos
Boomer from the original Battlestar Galactica
Adrian Paul from the Highlander series.
Richard Anderson who has been in a ton of stuff but may be best known for his work in the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman.
Trina Parks played “Thumper” in the Bond movie Diamonds are Forever.
Kevin Eastman co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
John Ratzenberger with a fan who brought him beer mugs to sign.
Claudia Wells from Back To The Future.
Ashley Scott who has been in a bunch of TV shows including Jericho.
There is a section of 1:8 scale models that are pretty amazing in their details. Here are a few:
And of course there are the panels in Hall H. Here is the panel on the upcoming movie I, Frankenstein.
I also went to the panel for the new Hunger Games movie: Catching Fire. Here are some of the actors in it.
Lenny Kravitz and Willow Shields
Jennifer and Josh
Here is the panel from the TV show The Grimm.
Silas Mitchell and Bree Turner
Silas and Bree again.
Claire and Reggie
David Giuntoli and Bitsie Tulloch
So another year of madness has come and gone with Comic Con 2013. I hope you enjoyed my pictures of this year’s show.
